Wang Lei

Director Wildlife Trade Programme, WWF China

Wang Lei is as director of Wildlife Trade Programme in WWF China. Wang Lei is mainly responsible for implementation and contributes to the strategic development of IWT programme with particular emphasis on China programme. She demonstrates great passion for wildlife conservation.

Wang Lei brings to her role strong experience in sustainability forestry, strategy thinking and business development. Joining WWF China in November 2013, she led China-Africa project to improve sustainability and legality of China-linked trade and investments in forest sector. She is responsible for promoting sustainable forest management and HCV identification in China covering big projects such as IKEA, Apple, DIFD and IIED. She plays a critical role in Forests Practice and contributes to the major achievements of WWF China in recent years.

Before joining WWF China, Wang Lei has worked with COFCO in forest management planning and Forest certifications in Gabon. And then worked as Project Manager of International Department at China Quality Mark Certification Group Product Certification Co., Ltd, managing FSC certification and VLC certification as well as government and civil society engagement.
